Lotuscalmbirth - Calmbirth® is a comprehensive set of antenatal classes developed for couples to reduce anxiety and fear surrounding labour and birth, in turn diminishing pain sensation, allowing mothers to birth their babies more confidently and comfortably.
The calmbirth® workshop will help you to harness your body’s natural abilities to evoke the ‘relaxation response’, guiding you and your partner to use these resources to help you to experience a wonderful pregnancy, birth experience and beyond.
Lainey has attended hundreds of births (too many to count!).
Lainey presently works as a clinical specialist in a birthing centre run by midwives at a large hospital in Melbourne. She works with women wishing to achieve a natural birth (including water births) after an uncomplicated pregnancy.
Lainey has worked as a midwife for over 10 years, specializing in labour and birth. In addition Lainey has extensive experience working with women whose pregnancies are considered high risk. She has a close rapport with a number of obstetricians who find her work with couples invaluable to their own practice.
Lainey became a calmbirth convert when she saw the amazing influence it made on women. Dimly lit rooms, with beautiful music and gently breathing their way through labour, smiling and happy, trusting in their body and ability, and most importantly, fear free.
She has been able to gently guide not only first time mothers but also second and third time mothers toward a wonderful birth experience.
